- PULSE Project
The PULSE team gains another member!
Mikko Närhi received his D.Sc. in Photonics from Tampere University of Technology in 2017. His research involved understanding nonlinear fiber optical phenomena, namely coherence properties of supercontinuum sources and chaotic pulse formation in passive fibers as well as in laser cavities. In particular, he has concentrated on experimental measurement techniques capable of real time/single shot tracking of sub-picosecond pulses at megahertz repetition rates. He has published papers in various OSA, APS and Nature journals and has presented his work at several conferences. He also has co-authored two book chapters on supercontinuum generation and real time measurements. After his D.Sc. he has worked at NKT Photonics in Denmark on high power supercontinuum sources for industrial applications before returning to Finland to work on the PULSE project.
